EPA and HUD Announce New Radon Testing Required for Multifamily Buildings

Multifamily structures will require radon testing when bought or sold when HUD is involved. The new legislation passed on February 4, 2013 and must be implemented by June 4, 2013. This is an aggressive move by HUD, but environmental experts at SWAT Radon Mitigation believe that it will save tens of thousands of lives.

Radon Mitigation and Radon Testing Law Enforced by HUD

HUD will now require radon testing and radon reduction (when levels are 4 or higher) in multifamily structures. This new law will save lives by reducing risk of radon-induced lung cancer for low-income HUD families. SWAT Environmental is now offering radon mitigation franchises to assist in the effort.
